AGM Notice

 Notice to DCSI Members: 2020-2021 Annual General Meeting of the DCSI.


You are invited to attend the 2018-2019 Annual General Meeting of Durham College Students Inc. (the AGM) will be held on November 6, 2019.

This is your opportunity to discuss the structure and activates of your student association.


Registration will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the entrance of the North Oshawa and Whitby campus rooms. Please bring your Durham College Identification Card at either of the AGM campus locations. DCSI representatives will be present to take attendance and to demonstrate how to participate at the AGM.

Call to Order

The AGM will begin at 3:00 p.m.  A pizza lunch will be provided during the meeting.

Advance polls for those who cannot make the meeting

Advance polls will be held at various locations between November 1-5 at various locations to be detailed on the website of Durham College Students Inc. no later than October 25, 2019.


Members of the DCSI may collect the Annual General Meeting Package, which includes the agenda, resolutions and financial statements for the meeting at the DCSI front office and on the website of DCSI.

The business of the AGM will include the following:

Confirmation of Amendments to By-Law No. 1: Members will be asked to approve the general operating By-Law that contains the governing provisions of the Corporation. The resolution for this item shall read:

That the membership of Durham College Students Incorporated confirms the amendments to by-law 1 proposed on April 8, 2019.

  • Financial Statements: Consideration of the financial statements for the previous fiscal year and the report from Corporation’s public accountant.
  • Public Accountant: Appointment of the public accountant to hold office until a successor is appointed.
  • The Electoral System for Durham College Students Inc. Elections  The Standing Committee has placed on the agenda of the Annual General Meeting the following question:

Which electoral system should Durham College Students Inc use in their elections?
