Do you know a kid who would enjoy a sports summer camp? Durham College’s Campus Recreation Centre in Oshawa is now registering for sports camps for July and August.

Campus Rec offers specific camps, such as baseball, basketball and volleyball camp, or a multi-sports camp for kids who love them all!

Multi-level soccer camps are also offered at the Campus Fieldhouse, and kids can choose between recreational soccer for a laid-back environment or the high-performance soccer camp for serious footy players!

The Fieldhouse also offers a turf-based camp, where campers can focus on sports such as lacrosse, football, dodge ball and Frisbee.

Over at the Campus Ice Centre, Hockey Development camp is offered to kids from ages 6 – 13. Players can develop skills both on and off the ice in between the regular hockey season.

Tim Watson, the general manager for the Campus Ice Centre says hockey summer camps are a great way to promote a healthy and competitive attitude in kids.

"It is so important for children to have fun and develop skills on and off the ice,” he says. “Our camp really focuses on promoting this through exciting interactive activities. We also promote how important teamwork is to the development of sport and life."

Camp programming runs on a weekly basis and spaces can be purchased week-by-week. Each camper is guaranteed a free camp shirt and most programs provide an included lunch.

To enroll a kid in summer camp, information is available on the Campus Rec website and registration must be done in person until online registration is fixed. The website also includes each legal form required per each camper.

Prices vary depending on the specific camp program and period of time a camper is enrolled.

Campus Rec only accepts debit or credit as forms of payment, and does not accept cash or cheques.

For more information, check out the camp portal online or contact Michael Duggan from Campus Rec at (905) – 721 – 2000 ext. 2255.
