From Sikh to Superfan, listen to Nav speak, focusing on overcoming adversity, starting from humble beginnings and finding success after a challenge
10 lucky students had a chance to personally ask Nav a question during a special private zoom chat after the show. 

Campus Cup 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Keeping the tradition alive, the Durham Lords men’s and women’s soccer teams will face-off against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks teams in a virtual Campus Cup – live from the DC Esports Arena. Both schools will have 3 representatives from each team competing in FIFA.

Wednesday, September 9 

First Day of School Opening Prayer and Smudge - 9:00 a.m.
Traditional Knowledge Keeper and Grandmother Kim Wheatley of Shawanaga First Nation will lead us in a virtual Smudge and prayer to start the year off with a good mind and a good heart. If you have access to Traditional Medicine, (Sage, Cedar, Sweetgrass, Tobacco) then please feel free to utilize at home while Kim Smudges us virtually. Smudging helps to release any negative energy that we may be carrying and can help each individual to find balance and harmony.
The link to join the event will be sent to you a half hour before it starts.

OutreachTalks – Self-Care Session – Journaling Workshop - 11:00 a.m. 
Join Expressive Arts Therapist, Georgia Fullerton as she explores mindfulness through a guided expressive journaling session. Try it out for yourself by following along at home and discover a new technique to reduce stress and anxiety.

Join us for a virtual tour and discussion of the Stonewall Pub, Stonewall Riots and the origin of Pride. We will be exploring the sites digitally through a presentation created by CYARK as part of the Open Heritage project.  After the session, students may take part in a moderated Q+A session.

This year has been tough – we get it. It is normal to feel anxious when the future is uncertain. Join us in this webinar where we explore methods to cope and manage anxiety caused by Covid-19.

Join Mary from The Living Room, for this D.I.Y. workshop focused on creating your best work from home space with products found at the local dollar store.

DC Community Dialogue on Anti-Black Racism: Part 3: Student Voices 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Sharing lived experiences of being Black on Campus. Part three of this series opens the floor specifically to DC students so they can share what they want DC employees to know about their experiences of being Black on campus. 
These events are co-presented by the Office of Student Diversity, Inclusion and Transitions, the DC Black Student Success Network, the DC Social Justice Week committee, and DC Students Inc.

Become inspired by the lyrical talent of this Spoken Word session specially catered to Durham College Students.
