Yoga with Adam Duke – 4 p.m.

Adam Duke of Duketree Yoga will be guiding us through a 30-minute yoga practice. Through the session, we'll be exploring 15 minutes of relaxing poses and running through a 5-minute meditation exercise. 

This session is great for beginners and professionals alike and will help you clear your mind so you can tackle that next exam!

Build Your Resilience – 2 p.m.

As a student of 2020, you've overcame many challenges and became more resilient than ever before. Resilience is a powerful skill that help you to better cope with the unexpected and can be developed further. Jordan Axani, Shift Collab will be speaking on the best techniques to build the resilience to withstand anything that is thrown your way! 

Destress Paint Party – 4 p.m.

Put the test prep aside and decompress with us in this stress-free painting party! Join us alongside DC Alumni, Olivia Brumbill for a guided painting experience.

Materials List:

White, black, red, yellow, and blue acrylic paint

One large and one small paintbrush

Canvas (16 by 20 inches, or any size you have at home)

Palette (Can be wax paper, a plastic plate, any hard, flat item that isn't porous.)

A cup of water for cleaning the brush.

Optional extra supplies include:

An apron 

An easel

Making friends in online classes is hard, that's why DCSI is here to help! Join us in this online meet and greet session where you will be meet students from across the campus in this roulette style event. Student participants will be matched up at random in this speed-dating style event. Inspired by the great minds at the OTSU!

We understand that virtual learning is tough, after all, how do you staying on track with so much up in the air? Jordan Axani, Shift Collab will be leading us through this informative session on staying focused in a noisy world. Through this session, you will learn techniques to help stay focused and on-track when distractions are abundant.

Pathways To Student Leadership: Get Involved - 4:00 p.m.

The Institute of Student Leadership (ISL) and Durham College Students Inc. (DCSI) will be hosting a virtual celebration to celebrate student leaders and kick off to 2021! As an active or inactive member of the DC student community, the ISL and DCSI would like to celebrate student involvement and engagement overall. Whether you were actively involved or you didn’t participate as much as you’d like to this past semester, we still want to celebrate and kick off 2021 strong! Join us as us celebrate and learn more about starting a club or how to graduate with a leadership certificate.

You've heard of Stress-Eating but did you know what you eat could reduce Stress? Nutritionist Slyvia Emmorey will be guiding us through how your diet can affect your stress levels, and techniques to reduce stress through eating the right thing!

Are you doing homework on your bed? Sitting in your kitchen chair for your lecture? Annie Robitaille, registered massage therapist will be walking us through some stretches to ease any pains caused by your work-from-home workspace!

Managing Loneliness – 2 p.m.

It's hard to connect in an all online world. Loneliness is something that impacts everyone, especially during times where it is safest to stay apart. Shift Collab's Melody Phu will be speaking frankly about loneliness and how to manage when you are feeling low.

Living with Roommates has taken on whole new definition this year and has introduced a whole new set of problems. In this session with Shift collab, Melody Phu will be walking us through how to cope with living with roommates in these strange times.
